A lizard and a Lizzy

Yesterday, an uninvited guest showed up at my house. He didn't bother to ring the doorbell or even knock. He just sneaked in when I opened the door to let my dog out. As a matter of fact, I didn't even know he was in the house until I walked in the dining room and noticed him by the window...

Did you see him there?

Yes, apparently this lizard decided to come in and make himself comfortable in my blinds. Maybe he was running away from home and thought mine would be a good place for a fresh start. That could only be because he didn't know that my boy is highly skilled at relocating lost, confused, and adventurous lizards back to their natural habitat - anywhere but inside my house! So, back home he went and I'm pretty sure he's living happily every after.

But, as it turns out, this is only one of the four-legged creatures that have made their way inside my home. Here's another, although I must admit that this one was actually brought here on purpose, as a birthday gift from hubby to me many years ago. Her name is Lizzy.

Many people think she's a puppy but she'll be 15 in a couple of months. She still acts like a puppy though, as she follows me through the house with every step I take. And I do mean EVERY step I take!

Now, if she could just stop any more uninvited creatures from sneaking in, that would be great. Unfortunately, this kind of thing just isn't a big priority for her. Naps come first.

Wishing you and your furry ones a wonderful day! :)

Lizzy is just precious! I can imagine just petting that silky hair is just so calming.......

About the lizard... we have them, everywhere, since we've moved out to the country! Thankfully, none have gotten in the house (yet!)
I'm glad they don't bite, but they sure make me jump!

Thanks for your visit! Come back any time!

Many Blessings,
Julie

Wow, that happened to me one day when we live in Georgia...a lizard got into the house. I was scared, and didn't know what to do, I hit it with my old dust buster, sorry...I was freaking out. Now I get mice in the house...but I don't worry, my wonderful kitty gets them before I do. Love your blog..

We have gobs of lizzards during the summer. The first one we had shortly after moving to this house just happened to choose a Sunday when all of the grandchildren were here. What a time they had running and screaming when the lizzard moved toward them. Truth be known when the lizzard took off in the opposite direction he was probably screaming for fear of those wild small humans.

So glad that you stopped by and left a comment.

Lizzy looks so sweet. We had a kitty for nearly twenty years who used to take great delight in catching lizards. Now that she is gone, the lizards are free to roam at will. Fortunately, none have roamed into the house yet!

We had lizards fairly frequently in Coast Guard housing in Miami. Luckily I had 5 kids, 4 of whom were very capable at catching them! No dogs at that time. Your dog looks so very sweet!

I like lizards but I agree, they're better off outside. My two cats might not kill one, but they'd probably wear one to a frazzle. ;o)

Your furkid is adorable. They do make themselves at home in hearts as well as our homes, don't they?

Have a great week!

Love and hugs,

Diane

Hi therer...nice to meet you...thanks for your nice comments on my lil' ol' blog... I love your beautiful Cocker Lizzy! As a child we had a black & white one named Myrtle after the lady who gave her to us...One day in a thrift store I found a 2' statue that looked so much like her, I had to buy it & she now sits by the TV in the den...;-) Bo

Well, a lizard is definitely something I'll never see in my house...they don't live around here! lol Lizzy is such a beautiful animal and she really does look like a puppy. I was surprised when you said she was going to be 15 years old soon! Give her a scratch behind the ear for me:-) xoxo

Thanks for stopping by Getting Down With Jesus. I am checking out your blog just now as well. We don't have lizards like that sneaking into our houses in Iowa. If we did, I think I'd have a heart attack! I'm not a big fan of scaly creatures. :-)

Thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday. We use to have those lizards everywhere when we lived in SC. When we moved back to NC, my movers kind of joked that they may sneak in one of the boxes & come w/ me. Well, that was just great because I was worried one would jump out at me for every box I opened. Lizzy is a sweetie!

Oh, is Lizzy up for adoption? I heart her!

Hello there!

Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. No wonder you think I'm getting a lot done today -- I see you are the mother of a busy little boy :)

Right now, you are doing good if you can get dressed and put a meal on the table. It probably takes tremendous energy to keep up with your little man:)

Your little Lizzy is so precious -- she looks so soft.

Blessings,

Trixie

Lizzy is beautiful!

We have many geckos around our house and on occasion one gets inside. I don't mind seeing them and admiring them outdoors, but in the house ... ACK!

awwww Lizzy is the sweetest thing ever!!! I have 2 dogs (one a rescue( & they follow EVERY footstep.)something so wondeful can be annoying when you trip often ; )
we are from up North, so having these little "lizards, gecko's, camelions.... whatever you call them" around is so fun! I prefer them OUTSIDE, yet sometimes they find their way in and its a pain to get them back out. My littlest daughter lets me know they are in the house by saying "baby baby... look baby in here".. cute but baby needs out now... I guess too many girls running in & out & holding door open??? how else do they get in? kinda freaks me out. they don't like toes do they? & only the "babies" get in right???

Enjoy the weekend ~ Holiday Spirit is in the air! ~
