Happy Thanksgiving!

Throughout the United States this week, houses have been cleaned and tidied up, decorated festively and made ready for company.

Hours of labor-intensive and love-filled home cooking will result in a feast rarely seen throughout the year.

Relatives who tend to be strange characters will put on their best outfits, and their best behavior. Love will fill the air!

But, throughout it all, may this special holiday be first and foremost a glorious occasion to be reminded of the many blessings that we enjoy. May we all look to the Lord our Provider with a grateful heart and a prayer of thanks, for He is the One whose hands continually bless us, protect us and unite us.

Wishing you and yours a plentiful Thanksgiving!

That is a beautiful post on Thanksgiving! I always loved Thanksgiving, but it means so much more to me now that I'm a Christian. And as my kids learn about the First Thanksgiving, they remind me that it was all about religious freedom, multicultural cooperation, and trust in and gratitude toward our Great Creator.

PS: Thanks for your comments on my blog!!

Hi and thank you for stopping by my blog! I love your Thanksgiving post and reminder of the One to whom we owe everything. Blessing to you and your family. I will stop back by after the holidays to check your blog out a little further, as it looks like we have a lot in common! :-) (I am drinking some afternoon tea now, in fact!)

I am an avid tea drinker and scrolled down to see your tea room. Very nice...I use my formal dining room as my "tea room"...all my china and tea items are there. I have tea for one on a daily basis. It is my time to sit a spell : ) and rest a bit. I read my Bible, pray or just sit and listen to music, as you mentioned.

What kind of tea do you like???

Thank you for stopping by my blog and leaving your kind comments. This is a wonderful post and a great reminder of what is really important about Thanksgiving.

I love the quote at the bottom of your page. My youngest daughter is named Melody. I'm going to print that off for her.

"Sit A Spell", to answer your question, I like all kinds of teas but these days I drink mostly white and also green teas. I'll probably do a post about the topic in the near future. Thanks!

Lovely post and so true! What a wonderful thing it is that we, as a country, have set aside a day to do nothing other than be thankful. If our nation could do that throughout the year. Thanks for your sweet comment on my post.

Blessings,
Christi

Pea, not it's not my house, although I agree, this porch is beautiful! It looks so inviting, doesn't it?

My house has palm trees in the front and back but they don't quite give the same fall feeling I'm afraid so I had to borrow a picture of what a "Thanksgiving-ready" house might look like. :)

This pic came from Google I believe. Happy day!

What a fun Thanksgiving Weekend post! Love the thought about how relatives -- how strangely different we are -- find a common thread of love and thankfulness.

Are those swags of fabric across the front of your porch? WOW, I love it! Great idea.

So thankful for God's abundant provision for our family, His life changing grace, and mercy towards us. :o)
