The most precious gift of all

Although there is not a snowflake to be found outside my home, I believe that a lovely blanket of snow adds such beauty and charm to this time of year.

Painting by Thomas Kinkade

Wintery paintings like this one remind me of the warmth and love that come from being home with loved ones at this time of year. Let's all sing together...

Oh, there's no place like home for the holidays,
'Cause no matter how far away you roam,
When you pine for the sunshine of a friendly face,
For the holidays, you can't beat home sweet home!

We've been away for Christmas in years past but being home with my family is the best! Sitting together, watching a good movie, all of us enjoying hot cocoa overflowing with whipped cream. Does it get any better?

Yes, for me it does, if we're doing all this while watching It's a Wonderful Life. :)

This movie always leaves me thankful for my family and the blessings that God gives us. In fact, the greatest blessing is the one that God gave all of us in the form of His one and only Son. He's the most precious gift of all, our Savior Jesus Christ.

Then the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS." Luke 1:30-31.

Despite all the distractions that can surround Christmas, may we honor God by celebrating what Christmas is all about.

Wishing you and yours a joyful and peaceful Christmas!

I love the movie "It's a Wonderful Life." I always cry at the end, no matter how many times I've seen it. :o)

I hope you and your family have a wonderful Christmas!

I also love that movie! And I'm so glad to be able to have Christmas at our house this year. And the best part is that my hubby will be with us. He leaves the next morning for his year tour, but we'll have a wonderful Christmas! Enjoy!

Merry Christmas Melody! Beautiful post! I lurve that movie too! I use it's theme as my traditional housewarming gift when a friend buys a new home. Salt, wine and bread in a gift basket along with the a card of the verses written out and a DVD of the movie to add to their collection!

Hope your having a great Monday! Blessings!

So true!
This has been a very different Christmas for us. Because of bad weather our family hasn't all been together. Finally our daughter came today and our son will hopefully get to come tomorrow.
It's fine though. We're so blessed and I definitely know He is the reason for the season.
We've been snowed in and my hubby and I have been r.e.l.a.x.i.n.g!

I love "It's a Wonderful Life" too!

Merry Christmas!
Love,
Valerie

Ah, Melody,
I have been a lurker for a little while and it is time for me to come forth and tell you what a blessing you are to me. I love your tearoom! You have a real knack for "romantic" syle decorating. You inspire.
I too am a Christian and strive to celebrate the Reason for the season.
God Bless You.
