A Krispy Kreme hug, anyone?

Yes, this dessert is just like a sweet Krispy Kreme hug! It's the perfect way to end a mothers' day brunch or any other meal for that matter.

I first made it a couple of years ago and it was such a hit that everyone asked me for seconds... and the recipe! But be warned, it's extremely sweet. With the main ingredient being the original glazed Krispy Kreme donut, what else could be expected?!

I saw Paula Deen make this recipe one day and I just had to make it. A viewer of hers sent it to her and boy, am I glad he did!

It's a super-easy bread pudding, oops, I mean donut pudding. From someone who absolutely doesn't like bread pudding, take it from me: this isn't your mama's bread pudding! If you'd like to try it, you can find the recipe by clicking here. Note that the glaze calls for rum and although I substitute regular milk, I'm sure it's delicious either way.

And as we approach mothers' day, I'd like to wish all of you moms, moms-to-be, and hope-to-be moms, a wonderful mothers' day. I just learned that there's a brand new mom right in my own backyard, quite literally! Here, take a look:

Aren't they so sweet? When I see her with her babies, I'm reminded that although not all moms are human, we share some common characteristics. A mom is a mom regardless of whether she has hair, fur, feathers, or fins!

Thank you for stopping by today and many sweet blessings to you and yours! :)

OH, mercy! I think these are even worth the trip to the gym as payment in full.

Darling babies and momma. We're seeing it all around here, too. Kinda nice, too, when drivers--who are normally in such a toot to get somewhere--will stop for ducks and geese out for a stroll with their new families.

Happy Mother's Day to you, too.

Good Lord I bet that's good. I absolutely L-O-V-E bread pudding...but bread pudding made with Krispy Kremes? My poor heart won't be able to take it!

{wipin' up a bit of drool}

Melody, I didn't think anyone could improve a crispy creme doughnut, but there it is. I'm afraid to even try this; I believe it would kill me. Yes, I would die with a smile on my face, but I really believe it would sweet me to death:)
Happy Mother's Day to you too!

Temptation like that makes me glad that there aren't any Krispy Kremes in Egypt ... and I won't even consider substituting less worthy doughnuts! (My waistline couldn't stand it if I got hooked on that.)

Wow, that Krispy Kreme pudding sounds wonderful. Believe it or not I had forgotten about Krispy Kreme donuts. We had them in S. Cali when we lived there but we don't have any in this neck of the woods! Thank you for the Mother's Day wishes. Happy Mother's Day to you also. I hope you have a wonderful week! Elena

Yummy, thanks for sharing. Absolutely, a mom is a mom regardless if she is a human-being or not.

Yummy....that recipe looks delicious.
I'm t-r-y-i-n-g to watch my calories so I'd better not make this. I'd be so tempted to eat too much of it.
Those little ducks are precious.
Happy Mother's Day (early) to you too!
Love,
Valerie

I saw that recipe somewhere. It's probably a good thing that the nearest Krispy Kreme outlet is about 120 miles from here. LOL.

Sweet little famiy in your backyard.

Thatlooks sinfully delicious. Do you know that I have NEVER EVER had a Krispy Kreme donut? Never. I don't dare. I am afraid I will discover a passion I do not need.
